Tips for Maintaining Optimum Performance of your Emplex IP66-Rated Washdown Bag Sealer

IP66-picture

An IP66 rating means your Emplex Bag Sealer is “dust tight” and protected against powerful streams of water typically used in washdown procedures.

To ensure that your IP66 Machine continues to operate at maximum performance, our engineers recommend the following tips.

For optimum performance and safety, your Production Environment should be:

  • Non-combustible, dry and dusty or
  • Humid without standing or spraying liquid that can contact sealer during use,
  • Between 0°C and 40°C ambient temperature and
  • Indoors, unexposed to the elements for long periods of time.

When cleaning your bag sealer:

  • Completely disconnect it from electrical power before performing any liquid based cleaning process.
  • Clean thoroughly by hand with a diluted mild detergent (linear alkylbenzene sulfonate or similarly based) and a soft towel or brush.
  • Spray inside and out with pressurized water (50°C, 120°F, 100kPa, 15psi max) without chemical or abrasive additives from a distance of 3m (10ft) for a period of no longer than 5 minutes.
  • Immediately dry with compressed air and/or soft towels after a pressurized wash down and/or hand wash has been completed.
  • Completely dry it before being reconnected to electrical power.
  • Avoid corrosive chemicals such as chlorine, sodium hypochlorite (basic bleach) or any type of peroxide.
