Producer of custom meat products experienced a high rate of poor seals and package damage from their foot operated impulse sealers. Their existing impulse sealer could not consistently produce quality seals and packages on an end-user supplied LDPE printed bag. A high number of packages were damaged during sealing or improperly sealed. The custom meat packager needed a sealer that could produce consistent results regardless of material and product type.

The customer needs a flexible solution that is easy to changeover and produces consistent results for a wide range of products and package materials.
Solution
Plexpack provided an Emplex MPS6500 Continuous Band Sealer with conveyor. Added options included a stainless steel pressure roller and 3/8 inch width seal. The MPS 6500 is a food grade sealer and conveyor combo that is easily adjusted to match any size or weight bag. It consistently handles a wide range of product and material types. Materials up to 6 mil thick are constently sealed at high production speeds.
Results
Seal failures were eliminated. Product throughput increased. Labor costs significantly decreased. Product changeovers were quicker without any loss of productivity regardless of material and package type. Production rates became more consistent and predictable. End-user customer satisfaction increased.
